theanthropic. harry.

[theanthropic] - harry
this spilled out at exactly 100 words. i think i better not mess with it. and in my head, it was ron, but that's up for debate.

He's faced the dark Lord again and again, as a baby, as a child, as a sullen teenager. Every time he has lived. Every time people edge away from him just a little bit more. They begin to think him theanthropic. They forget he is just a boy. They push him ahead, they call him a demon, they call him a savior. They never call him Harry.

The merpeople push him up from the depths, Dumbledore carries him back to the castle, and that night Gryffindor Tower sinks under the weight of the one who would have called him love.

Dude.

God. This thing is gorgeous. I've read it about five times now, and each time I'm pulled into something more.

God. This was incredible.

The merpeople push him up from the depths, Dumbledore carries him back to the castle, and that night Gryffindor Tower sinks under the weight of the one who would have called him love.

I am utterly speechless. Wonderful. Beautiful. There is so much emotion in 100 words.

*weeps*

O_O wooooooow... just beautiful. i can't even quote which lines i liked because i liked all of them. i particularly like the images of (a) no one calling him Harry and (b) the tower sinking under someone's weight. so very very powerful. wonderful piece.

That's ... probably perfect.

Both of the short paragraps sort build up towards the end and then the lines they never call him Harry and the one who would have called him love nail it just perfectly and make my heart ache. I've also always been intrigued by Harry's position in the wizarding world (Harry as more like a savior, or a weapon even, than a real person).

i have never been terribly interested by harry as a character, but when i start thinking about him like this then i'm fascinated. thank you!
